Inverse variations are of the form x*y = k where k is some fixed number
x*y = k
16*6 = k ... plug in (x,y) = (16,6)
96 = k
k = 96
-------------------------------------------------------
x*y = k
x*y = 96
8*y = 96 ... Plug in x = 8 and solve for y
y = 96/8
y = 12
So the missing value is y = 12
