Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
i was only able to find the x-intercept by graphing.
this expression does not have rational roots so the rational roots test failed.
all other tests failed.
i tried 2 online factoring calculators and they couldn't factor it.
those calculator can be found at:
http://www.tiger-algebra.com/
http://www.mathportal.org/calculators/polynomials-solvers/polynomial-factoring-calculator.php
the only other recourse was to graph it and see where the zero crossing are.
the x-intercept is at x = .2828575.
there is only one x-intercept.
the equation was not able to be factored in any of the usual ways.
the graphing solution is shown below:
$$$
the answer shown there is rounded.
i was able to get more decimal places using my TI-84 Plus graphing calculator.
