Below is the graph of y = (x^4 + 4x^3 - x)^(1/4)
note that x axis is -10 to 10
from the graph we can eliminate answers A, B, E
for the others we substitute for x and y in the equation for each point
**************************
C. (-4,SQRT(2))
sqrt(2) ?= (-4^4 +4*-4^3 -(-4))^(1/4) = 1.414213562
answer C. satisfies the equation
***************************
D. (2, 2(1/4) )
2(1/4) ?= (2^4 +4*2^3 -(2))^(1/4) = 2.604290687
eliminate answer D since 2(1/4) = 2.25
****************************
F, (3,4)
4 ?= (3^4 +4*3^3 -(3))^(1/4) = 3.692990888
eliminate F since 4 does not equal 3.692990888
****************************
Answer is C.
