1.  Add 40
2,  Multiply by 5/9 if Fahrenheith was FIRST, otherwise multiply ny 9/5
3.  Subtract 40

212°F

1. Add 40 ---> 212+40 = 252
2. Multiply by 5/9 since Fahrenheith was FIRST. ---> 252×5/9 = 140
3. Subtract 40 ---> 240-40 = 100

Answer: 100°C
