Carlos can travel 40 miles on his motorbike in the same time it takes Paul to travel 15 miles on his bike if Paul rides his bike at 20mi/hr slower then Carlos rides is motor bike find the speed for each bike

Answer by checkley79(3341)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
C 40=RT OR T=40/R
P 15=(R-20)T OR T=15/(R-20)
40/R=15/(R-20)
15R=40(R-20
15R=405-800
15R-40R=-800
-25R=-800
R=-800/-25
R=32 MPH FOR CARLOS' SPEED.
32-20=12 MPH FOR PAUL.
PROOF:
40/32=15/12
1.25=1.25
