Pick any x value and compute the corresponding y value; do this for several x values and plot the points, (x,y); draw the curve that connects the points.
That function is a rational function. You might be interested in behavior of y as x goes increasingly lesser and as x goes increasingly greater, and as x approaches zero from the left and the right.
Note, that function appears to be a hyperbola. First try to understand y=1/x
