Question 808955: i need help understanding how to find the roots of a number. i was given a problem that said to solve the polynomial that was set to 0 and i cannot figure out how. the problem was 40n^3-25n^2+56n-35=0
Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
40n^3 - 25n^2 + 56n - 35 = 0
looks like you can group factor here
5n^2(8n - 5) + 7(8n - 5) = 0
Factor out (8n-5)
(8n-5)(5n^2+7) = 0
one real solution
8n = 5
n = 5/8
and two non-real
5x^2 = -7
x^2 = -7/5
x = +/-
