Question 791962: The perimeter is 44 cm. The length of a rectangle is 2 more than twice the witdth. Find the dimensions.
Answer by waynest(281) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
length = 2w + 2
P = 2w + 2L
44 = 2w + 2(w + 2)
44 = 2w + 2w + 4
44 - 4 = 4w + 4 - 4
40 = 4w
40 /4 = 4w/4
10 = w
check:
44 = 2(10) + 2(10 + 2)
44 = 20 + 24
44 = 44
