Question 790979: Solving rational equations
Solve the equation
y+1/y+6-y/y^2-36=y-3/y-6
LCD (y-6)(y+6)
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y+1/y+6-y/y^2-36=y-3/y-6
LCD (y - 6)(y + 6)
(y + 1)(y - 6) - y = (y - 3)(y + 6)
y^2 - 5y - 6 - y = y^2 + 3y - 18
Collect like terms.
-9y + 12 = 0
y = 12/9
y = 4/3
Hope this helps.
