The inverse function uses f(x) to find x.
f(x)= -2x+7
Rearrange the function to isolate x. Firstly subtract 7 from each side.
f(x)-7 = -2x+7-7
f(x)-7 = -2x
Now divide each side by -2
(f(x)-7)/-2 = -2x/-2
(f(x)-7)/-2 = x
x=(f(x)-7)/-2
This could be rearranged to give the following if you preferred.
x=(7-f(x))/2
