Question 752369: Solve using row operations: x + 2y = 10; 3x +4y = 8

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve using row operations:
x + 2y = 10
3x +4y = 8
----------
Subtract 3 times the 1st row from the 2nd row to get:
x + 2y = 10
0 - 2y = -22
------
Divide thru the 2nd row by -2 to get:
x + 2y = 10
0 + y = 11
------
Subtract 2 times the 2nd row from the 1st row to get:
x + 0 = -12
0 + y = 11
