since (x+3)^-1 is equivalent to 1 / (x + 3)^2, this equation translates to:

(x^2 + x - 6) divided by (x + 3)^2

this factors to:

(x + 3) * (x - 2) divided by (x + 3) * (x + 3)

(x + 3) in the numerator and denominator cancel out and you are left with:

(x - 2) / (x + 3)

that's the simplified equation.

the restrictions come from the original equation after it has been factored.

that equation is:

(x + 3) * (x - 2) divided by (x + 3) * (x + 3)

x cannot be equal to -3 because (x + 3) = 0.

otherwise you're ok.
