Question 71634: Rational Expressions
the maintenance bill for a shopping center containing 180,000 square feet is $45,000. What is the bill for a store in the center that is 4800 square feet?

Answer by checkley75(3666)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
180,000/45,000=4,800/x
180,000x=45,000*4,800
180,000x=216,000,000
x=216,000,000/180,000
x=$1200 for the maintenance for the smaller store.
proof
180,000/45,000=4,800/1,200
4=4
