multiply the equation by n(n-1)
we get 3(n-1) +2n = 2n(n-1)

re arrange te terms

(2n-1)(n-3)=0
either 2n-1=0
or n-3 =0
2n-1 =0
2n=1
n=1/2

n-3=0
n=3
n=3 OR 1/2
