Question 687881: If the parent function is y=1/x, describe the change in the equation y=1/(x+3) + 1/2.
Answer

a. Moves 3 units to the left and one-half unit up.

b. Moves 3 units to the right and one-half unit up.

c. Moves 3 units to the left and one-half unit down.

d. Moves 3 units to the right and one-half unit down.

The first funtion is f(x) the second is f(x+3)+1/2. In general f(x+y)+z is y units left and z units up. So this one is 3 units left and 1/2 unit up.
