The total revenue from the sale of a popular book is approximated by the rational function , (X^2 + 4 is on the denominator not separate.)
where x is the number of years since publication and R(x) is the total revenue in millions of dollars.
a. Find the total revenue at the end of the first year.
b. Find the total revenue at the end of the second year.
c. Find the revenue during the second year only.
d. Find the domain of the Function R and is it a real number?

a) substitute 1 for x and do the arithmetic.

b) substitute 2 for x and do the arithmetic

c) subtract the answer to part a from the answer to part b

d) the domain of R is the set of real numbers excluding any value that would cause the denominator to be zero. Since there are no real zeros of the denominator polynomial, the domain of R is all real numbers.
