Simplify: 2x-[6-4(2x-3)]
The key to simplifying expressions such as this one with minimum confusion is to start with the innermost parens/brackets first and that's how we'll start:
2x-[6-4(2x-3)]=
2x-[6-8x+12]=
Note: This bracket is, in effect, being multiplied by a -1 so you have to keep track of the signs.
2x-6+8x-12 collect like terms
10x-18 or 2(5x-9)
