Hi,
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b
where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
line passing through the points:
(8, -6),
(4, -2) m = -4/4 = -1
Line
y = (-1)x + b
-2 = (-1)·4 + b |Using ordered pair (x,y):(4,-2) to solve for b
2 = b
y = -x + 2
