Hi,

 y = -2x^2-4x-1  Pt(0,-1) on this graph

y = -2(x-+1)^2  + 2 - 1

y = -2(x-+1)^2 +1   -2 < 0 parabola opening downward V(-1,1)

line of symmetry  x = -1
