Answer by girl_from_moscow(7)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
"which function is the inverse of f(x)=-1/5x+8"
hey so here's how you do it
1. substitute "y" for f(x) so now the equation will be
y=-1/5x+8 now, switch the y and the x. the equation will now be
x=-1/5y+8 since you want to leave the y all by itself, x-8=-1/5y
divide everything by -1/5 and the equation will become x-8/-.2=y
now rewrite this in the proper form as f^-1=x-8/-.2
Answer= f^-1=x-8/-.2
hope this helps! good luck
