Question 62448: Find the quotient 3-i/4+2i thanks alot
Answer by uma(370)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(3-i)/(4+2i)
Multiply and divide by the conjugate of the denominator = 4 - 2i
==>(3-i)(4-2i)/(4+2i)(4-2i)
==> (3*4 - 4i - 6i + 2i^2)/[4^2 - (2i)^2]
== (12 - 10i -2)/ [16 + 4] [because i^2 = -1]
==> (10-10i) /20
==> 10/20 - 10i/20
==> 1/2 - i/2
==> (1-i)/2

Good Luck!!!
