y=-x2+1
Create a table of values and plug-in different values for x
Plug the values of x into the equation and solve for y
Plot the points
Example
Let x=3
Than y=-(3)^2+1=-8
Plot point (3, -8)
.
Let x=-2
Than y=-(-2)^2+1=-3
Plot point (-2, -3)
.
Let x=0
Than y=-(0)^2+1=1
Plot point (0, 1)
.
Let x=1
Than y = -(1)^2+1=0
Plot point (1, 0)
.
Continue until you have a representation of the parabola (x^2 will graph into a parabola with two values for the x-intercept)
.
