Question 58405: There are two solutions to | 16x - 5 | = 3. What is the greatest solution?
Answer by josmiceli(19441)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
| 16x - 5 | = 3
If the quantity inside the absolute value sign is either +3 or -3,
the equation is true
16x - 5 = 3
16x = 8
x = 1/2
also
16x - 5 = -3
16x = 2
x = 1/8
1/2 is the greatest solution
