Rewrite the equation in the form of equation for a line:
Y=mX+b where m is the slope or stepeness of the line.
A positive slope indicates that the line will slant up and to the right.
3Y=4X-6
Dividing both sides of the equation by 3 gives us:
Y=(4/3)X-2 with a slope of 4/3
Find the Y intercept by setting x=0
When X=0, Y=-2
The Y intercept is Y=-2
Find X intercept when Y=0
When Y=0, 0=4/3X-2
(4/3)X=2
Dividing both sides by 2 gives us:
(4/3)X/2=2/2
(4/3*2)X=1
(4/6)X=1
(2/3)X=1
Multiplying both sides of the equation by 3/2 gives us:
X=3/2
When Y=0, X=3/2
The X intercept is X=3/2
We now know that (0,-2)and ((3/2),0)
are two points of this line.
Plot the two points and draw the line.
