Find f -1(x)
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There are a few different ways to do this, and I don't want to conflict with your teacher or your textbook, but I like to find the inverse function in TWO steps: 1. Interchange the x and y, and 2. Solve for y.
So, y = 3x+4
Step 1: Interchange the x and y:
x= 3y +4
Step 2: Solve for y:
x-4 = 3y
Divide both sides by 3:
.
So, or
