Please help me with this.I'm not sure how to do this.I have to solve these by factoring:
I have to factor
a. x^2 +14x + 49 = 0
b. x^2 - 16 = 0
**
a. x^2 +14x + 49 = 0
This equation is a perfect square
(x+7)^2=0
x=-7 (mult. 2)
..
b. x^2 - 16 = 0
This equation is a difference of 2 squares
(x+4)(x-4)=0
x=-4
or
x=4
