How do I solve these by elimination or substitution?
#1 y = -1 and x = 2
Solution: (2,-1)
---------------------------
#2 y = 1/2 x + 2 and y = 2x-1
Substitution:
(1/2)x+2 = 2x-1
---
Subtract (1/2)x from both sides to get:
(3/2)x = 3
(1/2)x = 1
x = 2
---
Solve for "y":
y = (1/2)x+2
y = (1/2)2 + 2
y = 1 + 2
y = 3
