Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For the function f(x)= (x+3)/(x-1), solve for (x) if f(x)=2
-----
Solve (x+3)/(x-1) = 2
---
x+3 = 2x-2
x = 5

f(2)=2+3/2-1
I am not sur if the x+3 and x-1 should be (x+3) and (x-1)
I will give both answers.
Following the order of operations.
2+3/2-1
2+1.5-1=2.5
------------
(2+3)/(2-1)
5/1=5
--------------
I hope this helps.
