let x=Alicia's upstream rowing rate
x+4=Alicia's downstream rowing rate
..
Travel time= distance/rowing rate
5/(x+4)=2/x
5x=2x+8
3x=8
x=8/3=2.7 mph (Alicia's upstream rowing rate)
x+4=6.7 mph (Alicia's downstream rowing rate)
