Question 465819: log4(x^2-12x)-log4 x=1
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log4(x^2-12x)-log4(x) = 1
----
log4[x(x^2-12x)] = 1
----
x^3-12x = 4
----
x^3-12x-4 = 0
----
I graphed it and found Real roots
at x = -0.3365; x = -3.2836; and x = 3.6201
==================================
None of these is an acceptable answer because log4(anything)
only has meaning if "anything" is positive.
Checking you will find that none of the "answers" meets
that criteria.
