You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y-3/2 +y/5 =3- y+1/6 solve rational expression? do i find lcd?
--------
Eliminate the fractions. Whether it's the least CD or not doesn't matter.
Use the product of the denominators, that always works.
2*5*6 = 60
y-3/2 +y/5 =3- y+1/6
Do you mean (y-3)/2 +y/5 =3- (y+1)/6 ?
30*(y-3) + 12y = 180 - 10*(y+1)
If so,
30y-90 + 12y = 180 -10y-10
42y - 90 = 170 - 10y
52y = 260
y = 5
-------------
Fretting about the LCD just wastes time.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

y-3%2F2+%2By%2F5+=3-+y%2B1%2F6..........lcd is 30
30y-3%2A15+%2B6y+=3%2A30-+30y%2B1%2A5
30y-45+%2B6y+=90-+30y%2B5
30y%2B30y+%2B6y+=90%2B45%2B5
66y+=140
y+=140%2F66....simplify, divide both numerator and denominator by 2
y+=70%2F33
y+=2.12
