Hi
Solving for x
|Multiplying thru with (x-4)(x+2)
9 + x(x-4) = 2(x-4)(x+2)
9 + x^2 - 4x = 2[x^2 - 2x - 8]
9 + x^2 - 4x = 2x^2 - 4x - 16 |combining Like terms
x^2 -25 = 0
x = ± 5
CHECKING our Answer***
9/7 + 5/7 = 14/7 = 2
9/27 + 5/3 = 9/27 +45/27 = 54/27 = 2
