Question 409874: I need help starting off my homework, in my class we are working on solving rational equations and inequalities and just finished working with asymptotes.
The problem I've tried to work on is:
x 1
__ = ___
x-1 2
The least common multiple to my knowledge is x-1
I am not for certain where to go from there.

2x=x-1 multiply each side by 2(x-1) LCM
x=-1
