Egg Problem: According to an ad for South African Airways in an old issue of Time Magazine, ostrich eggs served at bush country "braaivleis" (barbecues). Each ostrich egg is claimed to be equivalent to two dozen chicken eggs!
a. If an ostrich egg really is equivalent to two dozen chicken eggs, and a ckicken egg is about 6 centimeters long, about how long is an ostrich egg ( to the nearest centimeter)? Justify your answer.
b. If a robin's egg is 1 cm long, how many of them would you have to scramble to get the equivalent of one chicken egg?

Eggs are similar in shape.
The volume of a 3-dimensional solid is a function of the product of its dimensions, or the cube of any given dimension for similar solids.
If the volume is 24x, then the length is the cube root of 24*6cm
L of ostrich egg = 6*24^(1/3)
L =~ 17 cm

b. If a robin's egg is 1 cm long, how many of them would you have to scramble to get the equivalent of one chicken egg?
