You should recognize the numerator as the "difference of cubes" which can be factored to

Now you can see the (2x-3) can be canceled leaving:
4x^2 + 6x + 9

If you are not familiar with special factoring, look up "difference of cubes" in the index of your book and they will tell you about special factoring
