Question 377906: I am trying to do some homework regarding introduction to functions. I have to evaluate the function at the specified value of the independent variable and simplify.
Can you please explain?
g*x=x^2-4/4x ( over 4x) ; g*(n-4) I hope I put that in right.
I am so confused about these. Thanks so much!

Replace every x you see in the rational function with (n - 4) and do the math.

g(x) = (x^2-4)/4x ; g(n-4)

Let every x you see in the function = (n - 4)

g(n - 4) = [(n - 4)^2 - 4)]/(4(n - 4)

Can you take it from here?
