Question 354803: If I have given information such as vertical and horizontal asymptotes, x and y intercepts, or a graph, how do I find the rational expression?
I know that to find the denominator, I use the vertical asymptotes. For the numerator, I use the x intercepts.
What would I do with the horizontal asymptotes or y intercepts?

Recall that the horizontal asymptote of y=%28ax%2Bb%29%2F%28cx%2Bd%29 is y=a%2Fc. Example: the horizontal asymptote of y=%283x%2B2%29%2F%288x%2B9%29 is y=3%2F2


To find the y-intercept, simply plug in x=0 to find y. So when constructing the function, make sure that f(0)=b where 'b' is the y-intercept. Ex: If you're given a y-intercept of 2, then make sure that f(0)=2
