Answer by ovie27(16)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x intercept means that is when y is equal to zero.
y intercept means that is when x is equal to zero.
So, first, lets rearrange this equation to be equal to y:
4y = 2x
y = (1/2)x
so the x intercept:
0 = (1/2)x
x will be equal to zero because 0 divided by anything is 0. Now, let's try the y intercept:
y = (1/2)(0)
y will be equal to zero also.
This means that the line y=(1/2)x does not have any intercept. This is because it is a line that goes straight through the origin of the plane. It has a slope of 1/2.
Some points on this line are (1,1/2), and (2,1).
it is a straight line going through the origin, with slope 1/2.
