Question 308451: What is the graph of this vertical function: f(x)= x/x+2
Also, I need to know the vertical, horizontal, and slant asymptotes.
I know one asymptote has to be x=-2 and that the y-axis should shift over to the left 2 but I'm confused on how you graph it.
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You are correct about the vertical asymptote. The horizontal asymptote is y=1, (since the degree of the numerator equals the degree of the denominator, the horizontal asymptote is 1/1). The y-intercept is (0,0). You can graph a few points if you like, but the graphing calculator does it best if they are allowed.
