Rationalise the denominator:
Multiply both the numerator and the denominator by the conjugate of which is
Simplify.
= or
Explanation: In your problem, and so = 6. And = 5
Multiply by its conjugate using the FOIL method, it works out like this.
but, as you can see (I hope), the centre terms drop out leaving you with (6 - 5 = 1)
