Answer by user_dude2008(1862)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x + 5 = √(17x + 33)

(x + 5)^2 = 17x + 33

x^2 + 10x + 25 = 17x + 33

x^2 -7x -8 = 0

(x-8)(x+1)=0

x-8=0 or x+1=0

x=8 or x=-1 <------ Answers
