Answer by josmiceli(9697) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a= number of $8.50 brushes sold
b = number of $9.75 brushes sold
given:
(1) a+%2B+b+=+45
(2) 850a+%2B+975b+=+38975 (in cents)
Multiply both sides of (1) by 850
and subtract from (2)
I'd do it, but I lost my calculator
