Attempting to find domain/range answers, points are (1,-1),(7,3).
Find the equation:
slope = (3--1)/(7-1) = 4/6 = 2/3
intercept = ?
-1 = (2/3)(1) = b
b = (-5/3)
So, Equation is f(x) = (2/3)x - (5/3)
----------------------------------------------
Problem is to find the following:
a. f(4)= (2/3)(4)-(5/3) = 8/3 - 5/3 = 1
------------------------------------------------
b. What is the domain? {x|all Real Numbers};
-----------
determine all x values such that f(x)=1
(2/3)x-(5/3) = 1
2x - 5 = 3
2x = 8
c. x = 4
------------------------------------------------
d. What is the range? {y|all Real Numbers}
Note: Any linear equation that does not have a zero slope
has Domain = All Real Numbers and Range = All Real Numbers.
