Question 230617: My Algebra II teacher gave us a graph with two lines on it. The numbers are 8,000 to 20,000 on the Y Axis (which is the population) and 1970-2005 on the X Axis (which is the year). I'm asked to find the population of 2 cities (which are the 2 lines) on the graph using their slopes in the years 2015, 2024, and 1965. I've figured out that the slope of one line is 160. Where do I go from there?
Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
use the point-slope form of the linear equations
[(y-known) - (y-projected)] = (slope) * [(x-known) - (x-projected)]
(x-known , y-known) is the point on the y-axis
x-projected is the year for the population you're trying to find
