Assume the problem is:

multiply the equation by 4(x+1)
4(x+1)* = 4(x+1)*1 - 4(x+1)*
:
cancel out the denominators and you have:
3(x+1) = 4(x+1) - 4(3x-2)
:
3x + 3 = 4x + 4 - 12x + 8
:
combine like terms
3x + 3 = -8x + 12
:
3x + 8x = 12 - 3
:
11x = 9
x =

Check the solution in the original equation, you can use the decimal .818 equiv
to get a close check on it
