cancel out the denominators and you have:
3(x+1) = 4(x+1) - 4(3x-2)

3x + 3 = 4x + 4 - 12x + 8

combine like terms
3x + 3 = -8x + 12

3x + 8x = 12 - 3

Check the solution in the original equation, you can use the decimal .818 equiv
