Question 196268: find all rational zeros of p(x)= x^3-12x-16
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
p(x)= x^3-12x-16
I graphed it and found a zero at x = 4
---
Then, using synthetic division, I got the following:
---
4)....1....0....-12....-16
.......1....4.....4...|..0
Quotient: x^2 + 4x + 4 =0
Factors as (x+2)^2 = 0
==============================
Real Zeroes: x = 4, x = -2 with multiplicity 2
=====================================================
