Question 191414: Please help! Completely lost.
Problem- y= x(squared) + x - 6 over 3x(squared) - 12
It says that I need to find and classify any points of discontinuity.
I also have to do this problem- y= x over x(squared) - 9
Thanks for you're help,

To find the points of discontinuity for , simply set the denominator equal to zero and solve for "x". The solutions that you get for the equation will make the denominator zero. Since division by zero is undefined, these values are NOT in the domain (which leads to a discontinuity at that point).

Do the same for to find the points of discontinuity. Let me know if you need further help with this.
