what is the amplitude and the period of this graph: y=5cos 3 x
----------------------------------------------------------------
General Form: y = a*cos(bx+c)
Amplitude = |a|
Period = (2(pi))/b
--------------------------
Your Problem:
amp = 5
period = (2pi)/3 = (2/3)pi or 120 degrees

Answer by user_dude2008(1862) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
General form: y=a*cos(bx+c)+d
y=5cos 3 x ---> a=5, b=3, c=0, d=0
amplitude: A=abs(a)=abs(5)=5
period: T=2pi/b=2pi/3
