A secant line is one that joins exactly two points of a curve.
Since f(x) = 8/(x+7)
f(1) = 8/(1+7) = 8/8 = 1
and
f(2) = 8/(2+7) = 8/9

So you have two points: (1,1) and (2,8/9)
slope: ((8/9)-1)/(2-1) = -1/9
intercept: 1 = (-1/9)1 + b
b = 10/9

Equation of the secant line : y = (-1/9)x + (10/9)
