I think the roots of f(x) = 0 are 1,0 and 4, but I'm not sure.
Any help is much appreciated.

Start by graphing the function, and determine in what intervals of x the graph is above the x-axis. Notice that the roots (zeros) are at x= 0, x=1, and x=4, so the graph should cover these values of x and a little more on each side. Let's say graph from x=-2 to x= 6, and y from -20 to 20.
After drawing the graph, notice that the graph is above the x-axis from
(-inf, 0) union (1,4) union (4, inf).
